Orchestra/opera?

Hi I really want to listen to some mind blowing orchestral peices or some really good opera preferably with a solo soprano, I really love the powerful voices e.g. wagnerian or full lyrical but I'm not really that fussy I just want to listen to some music that will blow my mind :)

Any suggestions?

You might enjoy Mahler's choral symphonies, although they are epic in length.

Beethoven is, of course, awesome; his 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 9th symphonies are particularly good.

I also enjoy Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Schubert, Schumann . . . all those Romantic guys.

hi, try with the opera "Cenerentola" from Rossini

this weak i see a video with 3 pieces of this opera, and i loved

the 3 pieces was "Sinfonia"(overture), "No, No, No, No: Non V'e, Non V'e"(solo of mezzo) andd "Una Volta c'era un re"(solo mezzo)

also, i recommend the "pop" soprano(REAL soprano), Emma Shapplin

some songs are more "classical" than others, so listen more than one ;)

sorry for my awful english LOL
